Therapeutic gymnastics

Therapeutic exercise involves prescribed physical activities and movement designed to restore and improve muscle and skeletal function, balance, strength, flexibility, and overall well-being, often after injury, surgery, or illness. These exercises correct impairments, reduce pain, and can prevent further loss of function, with goals ranging from full recovery to managing chronic conditions. Also recommended for women in the prenatal or postpartum period, and to strengthen the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

Corrective exercise is a systematic approach that identifies movement dysfunctions and imbalances to improve mobility, relieve pain, enhance athletic performance, and reduce injury risk through personalized, integrated strategies. It involves exercises that target specific issues, such as lengthening overactive muscles and strengthening underactive ones, to restore proper movement patterns and biomechanics for better overall function. It is used to treat:

  • Various chest deformities (especially transverse chest curvature)
  • Postural symmetry (e.g., round or flat back) and grade I scoliosis (lateral curvature of the spine)
  • Flat and clubfoot corrections
