Medical (kinesio) taping

Kinesio Taping is a technique that uses an elastic, adhesive tape to support injured muscles and joints, relieve pain, and reduce swelling by lifting the skin to improve circulation and lymphatic drainage. The range of uses of the kinesio taping concept is very wide:

  • treatment of injuries,
  • reduction of inflammation (edema, including hematoma),
  • correction of posture,
  • treatment of symptoms caused by muscle overload (chronic tendon sprains, elbow tendinitis, tennis elbow, golf elbow),

One of the possible uses is also a neuroreflective effect, for example, in the case of headaches, as well as for preventive purposes.

Potential benefits:

  • promoting muscle activity,
  • pain relief: it can help to alleviate pain associated with certain conditions.
  • support: it provides gentle support to injured muscles and joints without restricting movement.
  • reduced swelling: by improving lymphatic drainage, it may help to decrease edema (swelling).
  • muscle fatigue reduction: some proposed benefits include reduced muscle fatigue.
  • proprioceptive facilitation: by stimulating skin receptors, it can help restore proper movement patterns.
  • neuroreflective effect.
