Schroth method for scoliosis
SCHROTH METHOD is a scoliosis-specific physiotherapy that includes asymmetrical three-dimensional therapeutic exercises with elements of corrective breathing. Training in the Schrot method provides the patient with the necessary knowledge and skills that help control their posture throughout their lives. The method is able to reduce spinal curvature in
both children and adults - improving the patient's well-being.
Scoliosis is one of the most serious posture problems. If scoliosis is not treated in a timely manner, the patient may experience pain in the adjacent joints and muscles, as well as heart and lung disorders. Physiotherapists provide advice on how to change the patient's usual daily positions so that the spine correction continues while sitting, doing homework, and resting.
When treating scoliosis with the Schroth method, the patient learns:
- to reduce spinal deformation;
- to strengthen the muscles that hold the spinal cord;
- corrective breathing to restore rib movement and expand collapsed body areas;
- postures that can reduce curvatures;
- postures that can lead to worsening of scoliosis;
- exercises that prevent asymmetrical spinal loading.
